Join Our Team as a Locum Physician - OB Hospitalist in Springfield, MO

Are you a dedicated OB Hospitalist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying flexible scheduling? We are seeking an experienced and committed Medical Professional to provide exceptional obstetric care on a locum basis. This vital role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the birth of thousands of babies annually and managing complex cases, including NICU Level 3 and potential gynecological emergencies. Become an integral part of a respected healthcare team, ensuring safe deliveries and compassionate patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive obstetric services for approximately 2,700 to 3,000 annual births.
  • Manage obstetric emergencies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Be prepared to handle NICU Level 3 cases and gynecological emergencies if needed.
  • Ensure patient safety and uphold clinical standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required Skills:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license to practice in Missouri.
  • Proven experience in labor and delivery, obstetric emergencies, and inpatient hospitalist duties.
  • Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, especially Level 3.
  • Previous locum or temporary hospitalist experience.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Additional certifications such as NRP or Fetal Monitoring.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with a minimum of 2 years of OB hospitalist experience.
  • Prior experience handling gynecological emergencies is advantageous.

Other Requirements:
  • Must hold or be eligible for Missouri medical licensure.
  • Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Ability to start by December 31, 2025, and commit to the duration of the assignment.
  • Willingness to participate in any required travel, licensure, or certification reimbursements.
