
Sr. Artist Relations Manager, Music Industry

Overview
The Amazon Music Artist Relations team is seeking an experienced professional to work with the creative community across multiple genres, focusing on Afrobeats, HipHop, and R&B. The role involves collaborating with artists, managers, and attorneys to facilitate increased collaboration with Amazon Music. Based in Los Angeles, the Artist Relations Manager will act as a passionate advocate on behalf of customers, educating, influencing, and driving mutually beneficial results.
As a key member of the team, the manager will work internally across the music industry team and with the Director of Black Music & Culture, while reporting to the Global Head of Artist Relations. They will collaborate externally with artist managers and manage Artist Relations programs across Amazon Music. The position requires an independent, creative problem-solver with strong business acumen and the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while meeting competing deadlines.
Key job responsibilities
Facilitate and encourage positive discussions between artists, managers, and internal teams, coordinating artist meetings and host or join artist playbacks at Amazon Music’s Los Angeles facility.
Manage end-to-end internal and external pitches and campaign launches for Artist Relations programs (e.g., Breakthrough program, Amazon Music Originals, Live audio+video content pitches).
Develop compelling solutions for artists to engage in initiatives with Amazon Music, driving business growth for the artist and platform adoption.
Represent Amazon Music at events, festivals, Amazon Music Live/Presents, and industry gatherings, managing Artist Relations communications and building relationships.
Build key relationships and act as an Amazon Music ambassador within the artist community and the broader music industry, especially in Los Angeles and Atlanta.
Maintain deep knowledge of cultural trends, music expertise, and industry landscape to inform content strategy recommendations.
Leverage Los Angeles-based resources, including Studio 126, Atmos recordings, and content creation facilities.

Basic Qualifications
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
Experience with project management and thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
Direct work experience with artists, songwriters, or other creative professionals.
Managed a large number of account relationships and deals simultaneously, ideally in media/entertainment.
10+ years of event marketing or brand, program, or experiential marketing experience.
8+ years of experience in artist relations, artist management, or music industry partnerships with demonstrated success building relationships with artists, managers, and creative professionals.
8+ years of experience managing end‑to‑end program launches and campaign execution across multiple stakeholders and competing deadlines.
Experience representing a brand or platform at industry events, festivals, and professional gatherings to drive business development.
Proven track record of strategic initiatives that drive measurable business growth and platform adoption.
Deep knowledge of Afrobeats, HipHop, and R&B genres, current cultural trends, emerging artists, and industry landscape.
Independent work style in ambiguous environments, taking initiative to carve new paths and drive projects forward without clear roadmaps.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize across multiple high‑impact projects while managing competing demands and tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master’s degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing.
Experience owning program strategy, end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Experience in contracts management, contract negotiation, and drafting contracts.
Proactive, independent work style; meets deadlines and delivers on projects and tasks.
10+ years of experience in the music industry with established relationships in the Los Angeles artist management community.
Experience working with streaming platforms or technology companies on artist‑facing programs and content initiatives.
Track record of securing artist participation in exclusive content programs, including live performances, original recordings, or platform‑specific releases.
Experience leveraging recording studios and production facilities for artist playbacks, content creation, and immersive audio experiences (e.g., Dolby Atmos).
Success influencing cross‑functional teams and senior leadership to align on artist strategy and secure resources for high‑impact opportunities.
Experience developing scalable processes and mechanisms for artist intake, opportunity evaluation, and campaign tracking across multiple programs.
Strong business acumen with ability to articulate ROI and strategic value of artist partnerships to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Proven ability to identify emerging cultural trends and translate insights into actionable content strategy recommendations that drive customer engagement.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary range for this position: $119,600.00 – $161,900.00 USD annually (USA, CA, Culver City). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
