POSITION
Practical Nursing Program Coordinator
– Full‑time position at Penn State DuBois. Dual reporting to the statewide PN Program Director and the Penn State DuBois Director of Continuing Education.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Coordinator will assist in the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of the evening and weekend Practical Nursing Program. Key duties include:
Ensuring proper implementation of all instructional materials and directing educational planning activities to guarantee compliance with program standards.
Developing and coordinating the instructional plan schedule, including clinical experiences.
Assisting with part‑time instruction per module.
Recruiting and retaining students, preparing and monitoring the program budget, and maintaining student records.
Contributing to curriculum development and providing or directing student counseling and support services as needed.
Conducting program, student, faculty, and staff evaluations in conjunction with the Practical Nursing Program Director.
Supervising and serving as a resource for PN instructors, and liaising with clinical sites and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
Relevant experience in nursing and nursing education.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nursing or evidence of completion toward a master’s degree (due to State Board of Nursing requirements).
Educational administration experience.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS
Education Program Specialist – Intermediate Professional:
Bachelor’s Degree + 1+ year relevant experience
(or equivalent combination).
Education Program Specialist – Advanced Professional:
Bachelor’s Degree + 3+ years of relevant experience
(or equivalent combination). No required certifications for either level.
BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check are also required.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary range: $51,000.00 – $81,500.00. Full‑time benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; robust retirement plans; generous paid time off (holidays, vacation, sick time); and a 75% tuition discount for the employee, spouses, and eligible children.
