Job Overview
The Sr. Consulting Solution Engineer - Tactical Awareness/ Special Operations supports a national team of sellers focused in the Public Safety space. This leader also partners with Government Sales to sell T-Mobile for Government products and services by leveraging their strong technical skills, experience, and industry knowledge. SEs engage in pre‑sales activities by consulting on customer opportunities to understand their business, identify challenges, and develop solutions that meet their needs. The Sr. Consulting Solution Engineer will closely align solution architects and design solutions, provide technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, and answer customers' deep technical inquiries specifically in the SLED/Government space. They also support Government Sales by reviewing customer opportunities and sales funnels, keeping the teams appraised of relevant technologies and industry trends. Role expectations include maintaining advanced level technical knowledge within a defined product set: Interoperability, Two‑way/LMR radio, Telematics, Private Networks, IoT, Fixed Wireless, Collaboration, Cloud, UEM, Security, Partner Device and Application ecosystem certification and enablement. SEs maintain technical skills and industry expertise by participating in internal and external training opportunities and pursuing partner or industry certification as required.

Job Responsibilities

Supports pre‑sales activities providing RFP technical input, strategizing with sales team to improve Regional/National sales, owning customer technical relationships, understanding nuances and drivers, designing and architecting services and solutions, uncovering opportunities and recommending solutions, and reviewing product roadmap with customers and sales team.

Engaged in Executive Briefing Center presentations.

Identify and develop opportunities in the SLED/FED Public Safety space.

Assist with go‑to‑market strategy with sales, product, and third‑party vendors to include 5G Advanced Network/IoT solutions deployed and sized.

Assist with training, technical documentation, and development for the Solution Engineering and Government Sales organizations.

Partner with Marketing, Product, Engineering, Sales Ops, and Care teams to provide feedback, support special projects, and engage in market‑level opportunities.

Education and Work Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of related work experience (or equivalent education and experience).

7‑10 years experience in telecommunications, IT administration or network engineering roles with professional track record of successful solution sales and managing internal and external relationships in a matrix environment.

Proven track record in building and developing relationships in the Military and Department of Defense.

Understanding of Government buying cycles and purchasing vehicles (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Technical Leadership (Required).

Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills with public sector stakeholders (Required).

Proficiency with business application software (Required).

Strategic Leadership ability to provide strategic direction in a leadership role, particularly within complex government and education sales cycles (Required).

Presentation skills to convey design benefits to a wide range of audiences.

At least 18 years of age.
