AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to the inventions they rely on. Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Data Center Technicians as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This trainee position requires reporting to a site location. There are multiple WBLP trainee openings in 2026 in Northern Virginia facilities. Trainees will participate in a 12-month work and training program.
Responsibilities

Perform server rack installations, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.
Serve as a contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
Perform on-call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
Successfully complete the 12-month Work Based Learning Program training curriculum, including all required safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones.
Daily Life

Day-to-day activities vary; you may be required to work shifts that include days
ights/weekends/holidays. Traveling within the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license may be needed for travel as company transportation is not provided.
Physical Requirements

Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; assist with group lifts for 41+ pounds.
Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with possible after-hours support.
Work in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments; bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
A s c e n d / d e s c e n d ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Tolerance for non‑climate-controlled environments with temperature fluctuations.
Qualifications

Basic:

High school or equivalent; 18 years of age or older; willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations.
Preferred:

Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems; experience with Microsoft Office; experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system; STEM courses or vocational education.
