in Colorado, you will expand our footprint across the Northeast by winning and converting high‑value Pro Lumber, Paint, and Hardware customers. This hunter role is for a relationship‑driven sales professional who thrives on opening doors, closing full conversions, and building long‑term, profitable partnerships.
Responsibilities
Identify and sign new high‑value customers across Pro Lumber, Pro Paint, Hardware Stores and Home Centers.
Develop a pipeline, build relationships, and communicate the
Emery Jensen
value proposition.
Serve as an ambassador for
Emery Jensen , engaging with industry organizations, vendor partners, and prospective customers.
Support new customers during the transition to their Territory Manager and maintain a weekly prospect pipeline with measurable results.
Execute a clear pre‑call and post‑call plan that includes decision makers, objectives, competition, ROI, and customer lifetime value.
Utilize marketing and merchandising materials to present solutions and attend industry events (shows, roundtables, etc.).
Communicate with Territory Managers and develop a transition plan for newly opened accounts.
Manage expenses for travel, meetings, and membership in line with overall budgets.
Attend industry trade shows with a targeted business development plan.
Qualifications
College degree or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years in new business development or territory management.
Comfortable with cold calling and a proven track record of success.
Knowledge or experience in the hard‑lines industry preferred.
Existing book of business highly preferred.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, business intelligence systems, and CRM tools.
Travel 60–75% of the time; residence in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, or Fountain, CO, preferred.
Compensation
$98,000 – $110,000 base per year.
