Senior Materials Coordinator at Seadrill (Offshore Drilling Experience Required)
We are seeking a
Senior Materials Coordinator with direct offshore drilling experience
to support and optimize materials and inventory management across onshore yards and offshore drilling rigs. This is a senior, hands‑on role for professionals who understand the realities of offshore operations and can ensure materials availability, accuracy, and compliance in a highly regulated environment.
This role requires prior experience supporting offshore drilling operations. Candidates without offshore drilling exposure will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and optimize materials and inventory management across offshore rigs and onshore locations
Ensure inventory accuracy through audits, cycle counts, and reconciliation activities
Provide functional oversight, mentoring, and support to Offshore Materials Administrators (OMAs) and Onshore Logistics Coordinators (OLCs)
Analyze usage and inventory data to identify trends, optimization opportunities, and reduction targets
Support inter‑rig transfer (IRT) planning and execution
Ensure compliance with materials management SOPs, governing documents, and QHSE requirements
Perform physical audits of inventory condition, documentation, and handling practices
Participate in cross‑functional projects, system improvements, and change management initiatives
Maintain required reports, logs, and documentation
Travel:
Periodic international travel (1–2 weeks per trip); less than 25% annually
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in materials, inventory management, logistics, or warehousing
Direct experience supporting offshore drilling rigs or offshore oil & gas operations (required)
Strong familiarity with offshore drilling materials, equipment, and spare parts
Proven experience conducting inventory audits, cycle counts, and reconciliations
Hands‑on materials handling and warehouse operations experience
Proficiency in Excel and inventory/material management systems
Experience with IBM Maximo strongly preferred; Oracle MRP a plus
High attention to detail with a data‑driven, analytical mindset
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience
Offshore‑relevant certifications (BOSIET, HUET, forklift, hazmat, waste handling) are advantageous
