Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Field IT Infrastructure & Support Specialist
with a strong background in deploying and supporting IT systems in oil & gas environments. This rotational role supports both offshore platforms and onshore drilling operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with networking, satellite communications, rig-based software, and end-user desktop support in industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure at offshore platforms and onshore drilling sites.
Troubleshoot and support satellite communication systems (e.g., VSAT), wireless networks, and IT/OT systems.
Support rig-based software such as WellView, RigSense, Pason, and Landmark; coordinate with vendors for resolution.
Perform rig-up and rig-down of IT hardware during mobilizations and demobilizations.
Provide field support for desktops, laptops, printers, iOS/Android devices, and enterprise software.
Deliver AV setup and meeting room technology support, including projectors, cameras, microphones, and displays.
Maintain accurate documentation including network diagrams, inventory, and incident logs.
Train rig and field personnel on IT tools and communication protocols.
Participate in IT incident response and disaster recovery planning for drilling operations.
Provide remote support via tools like LogMeIn; manage VIP, P2-P4 incidents and service requests.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
HUET / BOSIET with Helicopter Underwater Escape Training
(Required)
5+ years of IT field support experience, preferably in oil & gas, maritime, or industrial environments.
Expertise in networking (LAN/WAN, Cisco, Fortinet), Windows Server/Client, and satellite communication technologies.
Familiar with ITIL, NIST, or ISO/IEC cybersecurity practices in industrial settings.
Experience supporting enterprise applications and mobile device management systems.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in challenging and safety-focused environments.
Preferred Certifications:
CompTIA Network+ / Security+
Cisco CCNA or Microsoft Certifications
