Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, organized, and compliant inventory across assigned storage, receiving, inspection, and shipping areas within the Logistics Center or Global Supply Chain Center. This role works closely with Procurement, Quality Assurance (QA), and Logistics teams to ensure inventory accuracy, timely material flow, and adherence to Cryoport’s operational and quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

Maintain inventory in all storage locations in a clean, organized, and orderly manner

Ensure each inventory location is clearly labeled with legible bin location and part number tags

Create new bin location and part number tags and assign storage space as required

Perform weekly cycle counts and report results to the Procurement Team

Perform monthly physical inventory counts, as required, and report results to the Procurement Team

Collaborate with the Procurement Team to manage desired inventory levels, proactively communicating shortages or overstock situations to optimize space utilization and stocking strategies

Pull, package, and ship inventory transfers to other Cryoport locations as requested

Stock shipping stations as required to support daily operations

Complete all required inventory system transactions when transferring inventory or stocking shipping stations to ensure accurate inventory records in NetSuite

Create Inventory Receipts (IR numbers) in NetSuite for materials and services received or completed at the facility

Transfer inventory from receiving to inspection locations, ensuring both system transactions and physical placement are accurate

Monitor inspection locations and coordinate with QA to prioritize inspection requests

Transfer inventory that has passed inspection to the appropriate storage locations, completing both system transactions and physical moves

Coordinate with Procurement and QA to facilitate Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) for materials that fail inspection

Ensure rejected materials are returned to the appropriate origin once the RMA process is completed

Communicate with peers at other Logistics Centers or Global Supply Chain Centers to ensure transfers are received, properly inventoried, and put away

Communicate with the Procurement Team regarding incoming materials to ensure supplier performance meets Cryoport’s expectations

Support work orders for assembly parts, including issuing and receiving transactions

Perform the duties of a Logistics Center Technician as needed to support operational requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

2+ years experience in inventory control

Experience in NetSuite or similar inventory systems

Solid experience using MS Excel, Word and Outlook

Excellent math skills

Compensation
Up to $25/hr depending on experience + benefits + 401k + stock
