Job Summary and Responsibilities An RF Design Engineer main responsibilities are to design, implement, and maintain the radio frequency (RF) components of communication systems. They work closely with other engineers and technicians to ensure that communication systems meet the required specifications for quality, reliability, and performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Perform completeRFDesignfor 1st tierRFcarrier
Search area issuance, candidate assessment, approvals, Macro / Small Cell Designs and RF design support for bringing these solutions on-air. Redesign mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of the network to ensure performance fixes/initiatives are in place
Atoll experience
Fuze experience
Perform Macro/Small CellDesign designincluding antenna selection and placement, utilizing knowledge of C-band, 5G, LTE, CDMA to contribute in networkdesign
Create CIQs, E911 submissions, COPs etc.
Work on new cell sites, making sure the site is properly integrated into the network and optimized for peak performance
Work with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize components for best efficiency and reliability
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of RF design experience inMacro / Small Cell Designs.
Strong experience in Atoll and Fuze.
Prior experience designing is required (including CIQ/RFDS package submissions).
Understanding of LTE/5G NR technologies, RF propagation, and carrier design standards.
Proficient with Excel, Google Earth Pro, and RF post-processing tools (Actix, TEMS, Windcatcher).
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are needed to effectively work with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, and system engineers. Ability to clearly articulate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is necessary.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills are critical, as this role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving complex RF design and testing issues.
Attention to Detail: must possess a strong attention to detail, as even small design or testing errors can have significant consequences in RF systems.
Leadership Skills: may be required to lead small teams of engineers, so leadership skills are a plus.
