Develop and iterate on analytical frameworks, dashboards, and prototype models that reveal trends and opportunities in eBay’s shipping ecosystem, helping teams prioritize high‑impact initiatives.
Partner with product, business, engineering, and finance stakeholders to design and evaluate shipping initiatives, ensuring that key decisions are grounded in data and aligned with eBay’s strategic goals.
Identify opportunities for growth, cost savings, and operational efficiency across the global shipping network, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
Communicate insights, trade‑offs, and recommendations in a compelling way to partners across functions and regions, enabling shared understanding and faster decision‑making.
Contribute thought leadership to the Global Shipping Decision Sciences team, sharing best practices, mentoring peers informally, and helping to build a culture of experimentation and continuous learning.
What You Will Bring
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
Proficiency in analytics and data science tools such as SQL, R, Python, and visualization tools like Tableau, with experience working directly with large, complex datasets.
Strong grounding in descriptive and inferential statistics, including the ability to build basic prototype models to explore hypotheses and guide product or business decisions.
Experience working as a product or business analyst, or in a similar role, applying a data science mindset to solve problems at scale; familiarity with product analytics and online experimentation (A/B testing) is a plus.
Domain experience in shipping, supply chain, logistics, or a related area is a plus, with the ability to quickly understand operational constraints and opportunities.
