About the Role
Senior Category Manager – Sterilization & Specialty Materials, Global Supply Management. Lead global category strategies, supplier engagement, and cross‑functional alignment for all sterilization modalities (EO, Gamma, Radiation e‑beam) and related specialty material subcategories.

Key Responsibilities

Own and execute global category strategies aligned with business growth, network strategy, regulatory requirements, and KPI targets.

Negotiate and optimize contracts, pricing actions, and capacity commitments to achieve cost savings, improve coverage, and protect service levels.

Drive KPI performance management, monitor supplier cost drivers, and lead corrective actions across sterilization and specialty material categories.

Lead market, capacity and supply analysis to inform sourcing decisions, anticipate constraints, and maintain forecast accuracy and risk posture.

Support quality, compliance and change initiatives in partnership with Manufacturing, SQE, Regulatory, Network Strategy, Logistics and Operating Units.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of 7 years of category management, strategic sourcing or supply management experience (or 5 years with an advanced degree).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EO, Gamma, or Radiation sterilization and regulated industries.

Familiarity with sterilization validation, capacity planning and supplier risk management.

Strong negotiation, analytical, problem‑solving and strategic thinking skills.

Experience partnering with Quality, Regulatory and Manufacturing teams.

Excellent communication, collaboration, organizational and project management skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, analytics tools and SAP.

Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to vendor sites.

Roles below Principal level require unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.

Benefits & Compensation
Salary range for U.S. locations (USD): $138,400 – $207,600. Eligible for short‑term incentives (Medtronic Incentive Plan). Benefits include Health, Dental, Vision, HSA, FD&A, Life, LTC, 401(k), paid time off, PTO, PEP, and other standard plans.
