The Content & Data Analyst
Content and data analyst role in Capital Group's content team. Supports creation of investment content for financial advisors and institutional clients through research, data visualization, and collaboration with creative teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Independently handles standardized and recurring content assignments under direct supervision on complex projects, analyses, and tasks aimed at publishing outward-facing content.
Supports writers by conducting research to develop investment insights content for various audiences.
Partners with writers to identify research needs, execute research, and present findings to writers and other creative groups; fosters story and content ideas through trusted recommendations.
Proactively identifies and explores additional research gaps or emerging trends.
Conducts research on statistical, economic, product, asset‑class, anecdotal, and other relevant information to support creative and content development, utilizing a range of internal and external sources and leveraging existing research.
Summarizes and presents research findings, synthesizing input from sources and delivering findings to writers in an appropriate format.
Provides data to designers for the creation of charts and graphs and consults with them through to final publication, ensuring the design team creates award‑winning charts.
Collaborates with the statistical results group to ensure data accuracy.
Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Working knowledge of macroeconomic and investment data analysis and the ability to apply it to work assignments.
Displays a passion for research and analyzing investment data using industry software.
Subject‑matter expert in Excel who enjoys understanding and manipulating data, charts and tables.
Enjoys brainstorming and solving problems, as well as pitching ideas in a creative environment.
Core Requirements
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on economics, finance, statistics, applied mathematics or a related field.
3–5 years of professional experience in data research and analysis related to financial services or economics.
Strong functional knowledge of the investment industry, including fixed income and equities.
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
Experience using financial tools such as Morningstar, FactSet or Bloomberg is preferred.
Experience building financial models using software such as Python is a plus.
Advanced certification is a plus (e.g., CFP).

Compensation
Los Angeles Base Salary Range: $96,918 – $155,069.
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, Capital's annual profitability bonus, and a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
