Facilities Project Manager

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee facility renovation, repair, and improvement projects across DYCD program sites.

Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets in coordination with internal teams, property owners, and external partners.

Manage multiple ongoing projects while prioritizing urgent repair needs and long‑term capital work.

Track project milestones and ensure delivery on time, within budget and scope.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, approvals, permits, and close‑out materials.

Procure and manage third‑party vendors, contractors, and consultants; review proposals, cost estimates, invoices, and change orders.

Conduct site visits to monitor progress and resolve on‑site issues.

Collaborate with DYCD program teams, CBOs, NYCHA representatives, and City agencies to assess needs and prioritize projects.

Serve as a technical resource for CBOs and center staff; coordinate with Community Liaison of Facilities to align ticketing data (ServiceNow) with broader project priorities.

Provide regular updates to DYCD leadership and stakeholders on project status, risks, and next steps.

Ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations, including safety, ADA, and procurement requirements.

Support budget planning, track expenditures, and assist with reporting.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in project delivery.

Minimum Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree and two years of experience in community work or related activities; OR

High school graduation and six years of experience in community work or related activities; OR

Equivalent education/experience as above, with at least one year of experience as described in OPTION 1.

Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field. 1–3 years of project management experience in facilities or construction, preferably in public or nonprofit setting. Strong knowledge of construction processes, building systems, and facility operations. Proven ability to manage vendors, contracts, and budgets. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) and familiarity with ServiceNow is a plus. Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB, DCAS, or NYCHA processes is preferred.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency required within 90 days of appointment. City employees with 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in certain counties. Discuss with agency representative at interview.

Compensation
$62,868.00 – $97,593.00
