About the Role
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace manufacturer to hire a skilled
Mechanical Quality Inspector . In this role, you will be at the forefront of aircraft production quality—ensuring that structural assemblies and components meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Your work will directly impact the integrity of aircraft systems and the success of every delivery.
What You’ll Do
As a Mechanical Quality Inspector, you will play a critical role throughout the production lifecycle:
Perform
quality inspections across all stages
of production through to final delivery.
Conduct
visual, incoming, first article, and final inspections
to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and certification standards.
Identify and
escalate deviations
related to products, equipment, or tools.
Verify that
facilities, equipment, and environments
meet operational and safety requirements.
Execute inspections within authorized manufacturing operations for aircraft production.
Document inspection results and remarks in
FLEXNET, NCMS, SAP , and related systems.
Prepare
first article inspection reports
and complete aircraft documentation.
Support
troubleshooting efforts , Functional Test Procedures (FTPs), and quality surveys.
Compile non-conformance data and initiate
quality discrepancy reports
in NCMS.
Participate in
Material Review Board (MRB)
activities, including audits of rework orders.
Audit work packages to ensure
process adherence and production validation approval (PV) .
Track and manage components throughout the
non-conformance process .
Use a variety of
inspection tools and measurement techniques
(mechanical, optical, electrical).
Perform additional duties as needed to support quality and production goals.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an aviation environment, focused on
mechanical and/or structural assemblies .
Strong knowledge of
Quality Management Systems .
Experience with
engineering drawings, inspection plans, and production processes .
Proficiency in
inspection tools and measurement techniques .
Solid understanding of
production line practices, methods, and tools .
Preferred Qualifications:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License; Inspection Authorization is a plus.
Prior experience in a
Quality Inspector
role within aerospace.
Airline or aviation industry background.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
This role requires the ability to work both in office and production environments, including:
Operating tools and equipment such as hydraulic lifts.
Lifting up to 30 lbs and carrying up to 20 lbs occasionally.
Standing, walking, squatting, and working at heights (up to 15 feet).
Navigating production floors, flight lines, and varied surfaces.
Traveling domestically and internationally as needed.
Maintaining visual, auditory, and communication capabilities necessary for a dynamic industrial setting.
