  • Seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon
  • Fellowship required - must be trauma trained
  • Coverage needs: 1-3 providers
Schedule:
  • 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.: hospital rounds, consults, limited clinic
  • 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.: on-call coverage
  • 24-hour call option: 6a-6a
  • Shifts per month: 10-20
  • Dates:
    • June 12-22
    • July 29 - August 17
    • Additional ongoing dates likely
Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Morning rounds daily with APP/PA team (6:00 a.m.)
  • Consult and perform surgical cases as needed
  • APPs handle 1st call; surgeon serves as 2nd call
  • Trauma surgeons do not perform elective cases
  • Manage:
    • Pelvis fractures (handled by trauma team)
    • Hip fractures (trauma surgeon can manage independently)
    • Complex cases may be shared with general orthopedics if needed
Volume / Workload:
  • Avg inpatient census: 10
  • Avg admissions: 2-3 per day
  • Avg consults: 5 per day
  • Avg surgical cases: 3-4 per day
