In this role, you will manage and support early-stage development of High Voltage Transmission and Substation projects within the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Business Unit. Key responsibilities include:
Leading multiple early-stage project activities, including:
Developing project scope, constructability plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
Coordinating engineering, procurement, permitting, and land activities.
Preparing projects for handoff to construction with executable plans.
Supporting financial modeling and cost estimating assumptions.
Ensuring projects are aligned with budget, schedule, and scope requirements.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Development, Environmental, Legal, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations.
Managing risks, identifying mitigation strategies, and communicating updates to leadership.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
Coordinate all pre-construction (Early Stage) activities for transmission and substation projects.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and alignment with financial targets.
Create and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones and identifying risks.
Prepare and issue Request for Proposal (RFP) documentation for sourcing vendors and contractors.
Support procurement efforts for engineering, materials, equipment, and construction services.
Ensure all project components (permits, land, engineering, budget, schedule) are in place before construction handoff.
Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Lead coordination across multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment and execution.
Assist in portfolio management and support leadership of project teams (for senior-level responsibilities).
Represent E&C interests in meetings, presentations, and project briefings.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills.
Excellent communication skills, including documentation of meetings and key decisions.
Ability to balance scope, schedule, and cost effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
Strong understanding of risk management and mitigation planning.
Proficiency in project management tools and reporting systems.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
8+ years of project management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP Certification.
Experience with large-scale high voltage transmission and substation projects.
Experience leading teams and direct reports.
Strong business and commercial acumen with a results‑driven mindset.
