Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities
Incumbents in this role must manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions while providing caring service that exceeds customer expectations. Tasks include preparing medication, verifying prescriptions, communicating with patients and co‑workers, maintaining inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

Must be at least 16 years of age

Licensure requirements vary by state

Attention and focus – ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction

Customer service orientation – friendly manner, attentive to customers’ reactions, and responsive

Communication skills – verbal and written proficiency, active listening, and clear articulation

Mathematical reasoning – ability to use math to solve problems such as calculating a day’s supply of a prescription

Problem resolution – ability to judge when something is wrong and choose the best course of action among available options

Physical demands – remaining upright on feet, moving on foot, typing, extending hands and arms, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting

Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician

PTCB National Certification

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Hours and Compensation
Anticipated weekly hours: 40
Time type: Full time
Pay range: $17.92 - $27.92 per hour (exact offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors).
