Job Summary
The role will be part of Rakuten Rewards Sales team and will be accountable for building and maintaining relationships with key decision-makers at some of the largest e‑commerce companies. This role will focus on new customer acquisition for Rakuten Rewards and will work with top e‑commerce businesses to enable them to grow online sales and acquire new customers.
Key Responsibilities
Expand base of business through acquisition of net new customers/opportunities by establishing relationships with key decision makers and consulting on solution roadmap to achieve future growth.
Partner with Account Executives, Account Managers, and/or Partner Manager to hand off relationships.
Conduct secondary qualification of opportunity, confirming information provided by SDR to confirm viability.
Qualify high priority web‑based inquiries, lapsed customer lists, leads from networks, and ‘cold’ leads.
Generate opportunity plan for active pursuits (customer needs, value prop, etc.).
Nurture and close leads, maintaining customer & opportunity data in CRM.
Qualifications
5-7 years of sales experience in a consultative sales environment.
Experience selling Publisher Media Placements, Affiliate Marketing, Display, Search, Attribution, Social or Video ishighly desired.
Proven record of generating new revenue and exceeding sales quota.
Experience selling software solutions to the C‑level suite at Fortune 1000 and IAB 250 companies.
Proven record of success in a consultative selling environment.
Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
Seek out and build relationships with industry contacts for new business opportunities.
Identify and develop new advertiser sales leads within assigned territory.
Produce a high volume of sales related activity (cold calls, presentations, proposals).
Represent Rakuten Rewards at trade shows, seminars and industry events.
Ability to formulate and present strategic presentations.
Understand our competitive landscape and be able to effectively sell against them – effectively sell against competitors and position Rakuten Rewards as the market leader.
Sell major new accounts in timely sales cycle while maintaining an active pipeline.
Meet and exceed all sales and revenue target.

USD $78,651.00 - $135,216.00 annually
At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown above. Individual compensation will vary based on job‑related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
