Are you looking for an opportunity to improve your critical thinking and fundamental skills? Come join us at MedStar Washington Hospital Center for our Winter 2025 Student Nurse Extern Cohort!
The Nurse Extern Winter 2025 Cohort will begin on December 15, 2025 and conclude on January 9, 2026. You will be working 36‑40 hours per week with shift and weekend rotation. After successful completion of the cohort, you will have the opportunity to remain on staff, in a flexible position, leading up to graduation.
Official start date: Monday, 12/15. Required in‑person skills day: Saturday, 12/20.
Date range for entire 4‑week program: 12/15‑1/9 (must be available full‑time, with no schedule or school conflicts, from 12/20 through 1/9).
Qualifications for position
Education
Current enrollment in an accredited nursing program and in good standing.
Must have completed junior year of nursing school and currently be in final year of nursing program.
Must have successfully completed a Fundamentals of Nursing course.
Experience
None.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
Current Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required.
This position has a hiring range of $20.120 – $20.120.
