Adjunct Faculty, Certified Nursing Aid CTE-CE – LSC-Tomball, Part-time, Regular position.
Purpose and Scope
Provide learning activities and support to achieve course objectives for the Certified Nursing Aide Program and contribute to the educational environment.
Essential Job Functions
Teach Continuing Education courses in the Certified Nursing Aide Program.
Develop and utilize a course syllabus for each course following institutional guidelines.
Instruct students in lecture, on‑site laboratory, and off‑site clinical facilities, correlating theory with practice of basic nursing care in long‑term facilities.
Comply with state requirements from Texas Department of Health and Human Services and Lone Star College program expectations.
Perform ongoing written student evaluations using the Texas Nurse Aide Performance Record and administer tests, giving oral and written feedback.
Evaluate student progress using various assessments and communicate timely progress.
Submit required college reports and forms.
Provide student access through office hours, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods.
Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Physical Abilities
Perform tasks primarily with fingers and hand, including picking, pinching, typing.
Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Ability to push, pull, squat, turn, bend, and stoop.
Receive and interpret oral information accurately.
Provide hand and arm movements in any direction.
Maintain close visual acuity for activities such as transcribing and data analysis.
Work Schedule & Conditions
Use PC workstation, calculator, phone, and general office equipment.
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed.
Work performed in climate-controlled office with minimal safety hazards.
Hours vary with class schedules; instructor must meet all scheduled classes and be available to students outside instruction.
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) licensed in Texas.
At least two years of nursing experience.
Completed adult teaching course, adult teaching experience, or experience supervising Nurse Aids.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor or Associate degree in Healthcare or related field.
Previous Charge Nurse experience or at least one year of long‑term care services in a nursing facility.
Salary
$55.44 per contact hour.
