Position Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Clinical Pharmacotherapy Specialist. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for developing and maintaining a high-level of practice in the areas of antimicrobial stewardship and internal medicine. Working under minimal supervision, the individual will troubleshoot challenges related to the delivery of patient care, clinical pharmacy program management, and staff supervision. The individual will develop, implement, and sustain clinical pharmacotherapy programs.

Identify and provide expertise for Medication Use Evaluations.
Oversee Pharmacy Resident preceptorship; Pharmacy student mentoring; and scholarly activity.
Participate in hospital committee involvement as identified and assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
Provide clinical intervention, adverse drug reaction, and medication error documentation and reporting.
Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines that enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety.
Evaluate and report measures of patient encounter productivity and identify methods to enhance efficiency.
Identify and develop policies and procedures that optimize pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and applicable regulations.
Contribute to the professional development of staff, including Pharmacists and Clinical Pharmacists.
Provide oversight for quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve quality of care.
Participate in multidisciplinary bedside rounds; provide pharmacotherapeutic, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacoeconomic consultation; participate in medical response team, airway, stroke, and acute coronary syndrome pager response; document patient admission histories; involve in transitions of care; counsel patients and caregivers; and participate in educational initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy. New York State Pharmacist Licensure. PGYI pharmacy residency training. PGY2 pharmacy residency training or equivalent salaried professorship at a school of pharmacy. Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty required within 18 months of hire. Self‑motivation, good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Salary
NYU Langone Health provides a salary range of $195,398.40 – $218,039.04 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need; the range does not include bonuses, differential pay, or other forms of compensation.
