NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is a full‑service teaching hospital and Level I trauma center located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.

Position Summary
PGY1 Pharmacy Resident – Brooklyn. The New York University Langone Health (NYULH) Pharmacy Residency (PGY1) is a 12‑month program that provides the resident with an intensive, individualized experience in an inpatient setting, enabling the pharmacist to develop high‑level pharmaceutical care skills across various practice settings.

Job Responsibilities

Fulfill NYU Langone Health’s core values and mission in all duties.

Develop and maintain a high‑level clinical pharmacy practice.

Participate in multidisciplinary bedside rounds.

Provide pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic/pharmaco‑economics consultation.

Respond to medical emergencies, including airway, stroke, and acute coronary syndrome paging.

Collect patient admission histories.

Participate in transition‑of‑care processes.

Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers.

Participate in educational initiatives.

Oversee quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve care quality.

Contribute to professional development of pharmacists and clinical pharmacists.

Develop policies and procedures that optimize pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation and regulatory standards.

Evaluate and report patient encounter productivity measures, identifying methods to enhance efficiency.

Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines to improve pharmaceutical care and medication safety.

Document and report clinical interventions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors.

Participate in hospital committees as assigned by the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services.

Provide expertise for Medication Use Evaluations.

Maintain professional competency and certification.

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities

Longitudinal responsibilities including on‑call, staffing, and code response.

ASHP requirements as outlined in the residency contract.

Minimum Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE‑accredited College of Pharmacy.

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York.

Preferred Licenses

Pharmacy Intern Permit – NYS

Pharmacist License – NYS

Salary
The salary range for the role is $48,750.00 – $54,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range listed does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
