
PGY2 Pharmacy Resident - Brooklyn

Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a PGY2 Pharmacy Resident - Brooklyn. This 12‑month residency provides an intensive individualized experience in the inpatient setting, enabling the resident to develop skills for a high level of pharmaceutical care across various practice settings. The program follows ASHP guidelines and accreditation standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a high‑level clinical pharmacy practice.
Participate in multidisciplinary bedside rounds.
Provide pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic, and pharmaco‑economics consultation.
Respond to medical emergencies such as airway, stroke, and acute coronary syndrome pager alerts.
Conduct patient admission histories and transition of care involvement.
Provide medication counseling to patients and caregivers.
Participate in educational initiatives.
Oversee quality assurance of clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient care quality.
Contribute to professional development of staff, including pharmacists and clinical pharmacists.
Identify and develop policies and procedures that optimize pharmacy operations while meeting accreditation standards and regulations.
Evaluate and report measures of patient encounter productivity and identify methods to enhance efficiency.
Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines to enhance pharmaceutical care and medication safety.
Document and report clinical interventions, adverse drug reactions, and medication errors.
Serve on hospital committees as designated by the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services.
Provide expertise for medication use evaluations.
Maintain professional competency and certification.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE‑accredited College of Pharmacy. Eligibility for licensure in the State of New York.
Preferred Licenses:
Pharmacy Intern Permit – NYS
Pharmacist License – NYS

Salary:
Salary range: $48,750.00 – $54,000.00 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
