This position is for a Clinical Counselor (CC) reporting to the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker within the Medical Services, Integrated Care & Complex Patient Populations Division. The CC applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques to treat incarcerated individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and to foster the development of preventative skills and behaviors that promote wellness. The role includes performing assessments that facilitate transitional care planning and coordination, linking incarcerated patients with available resources.
Responsibilities
Apply counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license.
Treat incarcerated individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
Assist in the assessment of transitional care planning and coordination.
Facilitate linkages between incarcerated patients and resources to support their reintegration.
