
Community Mental Health Nurse - Adult Community Mental Health Team

The Role
The Community Mental Health Team is recruiting a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) based in Goldenhill Resource Centre. The successful applicant will manage their own caseload and supervise trained and untrained staff within the Nursing Team, providing comprehensive, specialist nursing care to clients with complex health and social needs within a defined geographical area.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
This is a permanent 36‑hour post working Monday–Thursday 9:00 am–4:45 pm and Friday 9:00 am–4:30 pm. You will be based at Goldenhill Resource Centre, 199 Dumbarton Road, Clydebank, G81 4XJ.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, develop, implement and review person‑centred care plans to support service users; deliver psychological interventions in line with best practice and NICE guidelines, administer medication and monitor physical health where required.
• Act as a named nurse for a defined caseload, coordinate care across agencies to ensure continuity and high standards; respond to crisis situations and provide increased levels of support when necessary.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff and students, and contribute to ongoing service development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain NMC registration and adhere to the NMC Code at all times; participate in clinical audit, reflective practice and continuing professional development activities.
Qualifications
First‑level Registered Mental Nurse
Evidence of continuing professional development
Excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills
Ability to fulfil main duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description
Current driving licence
