Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant / Communications
Schedule: Monday‑Friday 9a‑5p
About the Team
The Internal Medicine team constantly works with our internists to provide information to clients regarding patient care, updates and treatments. This department focuses on relationship building as patient care is longer in duration. If you want to combine your love of animals and clients, this is the department for you.
What you’ll do
Answer telephones and transfer calls
Manage medical records, charts, reports and correspondences
Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway)
Manage appointments, obtain histories and update patient information
Accurate and thorough documentation of medical records
Patient discharge and client education
Who you are
Prior veterinary experience required, previous internal medicine experience desired
Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
