
Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities
Follow company SOPs at each workstation and help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
Perform pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
Provide empathetic, personalized service at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and phone interactions; offer immunizations and other services.
Complete inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories.
Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge.
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; travel to other store locations if required.
Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; follow CVS policies for patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy.
Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and supporting off‑site clinics) as allowed by law and training.
Immunization Responsibilities (if applicable)
Complete licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
Educate patients about vaccine importance and refer to pharmacist‑on‑duty for questions.
Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public‑health requirements.
Review, collect, track, and document patient information for vaccines.
Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
Required Qualifications
Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
If no state requirement, must be at least 16 years old and have a high‑school diploma or equivalency, or be actively enrolled in high school.
State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Attendance: regular, nights, and weekends.
Successful completion of designated training within the required timeframe.

Concentrate on tasks for extended periods.
Pivotal quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
Confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

Notice and understand patient reactions; respond appropriately.

Listen actively and ask questions; avoid inappropriate interruptions.
Mathematical Reasoning
Use math to determine tablet counts, day’s supply, and bottle requirements.
Problem Resolution
Identify challenging interactions and choose best solutions.
Physical Demands
Mobile, upright for extended periods.
Lift, scan, bag items up to 20 lbs; frequently lift 10 lbs.
Reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, and perform fine‑motor tasks.
Maintain good visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing and reading.
Perform any additional tasks directed by Supervisor or Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
Ability to work at the home store and across the market in other locations.
