Job Summary
Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient’s hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach.

Responsibilities and Requirements

Perform comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment (age-appropriate admission, transfer, post‑op, etc.).

Document findings accurately and completely.

Assess post‑op/post‑invasive procedure patients.

Document education and discharge needs of patient and family.

Reassess and document observations according to patient plan of care.

Establish, coordinate, and evaluate a plan of care based on assessment data, diagnoses, labs, procedures, physician orders, protocols, and standards of care.

Identify short- and long-term goals, formulate interventions, incorporate evidence‑based practice.

Provide and document nursing interventions, collaborate with health team, coordinate care, administer medications, monitor IV fluids.

Complete referrals, request consultations, provide education and discharge planning, clarify orders.

Participate in daily care planning, handoff communication, report changes, involve family/guardian, incorporate infection control practices.

Document ongoing evaluation of care effectiveness, update plan, report significant changes, resolve problems.

Provide specialized care (restraint care, pain management, abuse assessment) per protocols.

Demonstrate accountability for professional practice, adhere to quality standards, participate in learning, maintain proficiency.

Adapt to changing workloads, support coworkers, maintain professional relationships.

Follow safety and infection control policies, maintain a clean environment, adhere to dress code.

Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality.

Participate in performance improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives, contribute to unit goals.

Provide age‑appropriate care for adult and geriatric patients.

Use resources efficiently, document chargeable supplies, prioritize tasks.

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri.

Valid RN license (or equivalent compact state license).

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Maintain licensure, BLS, and mandatory training (TB screening, influenza, ethics, safety, bloodborne pathogens, abuse & neglect).

Experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform tasks as described in Physical Requirements.

Job Specifications
Working Conditions: May be exposed to risk of blood borne diseases, unpleasant elements, emergencies, irregular hours.

Physical Requirements: Occasional prolonged standing/walking, lifts, pushes, transfers, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
