Adjunct Faculty, English

Colorado Mountain College (CMC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach associate and bachelor’s level courses and support student learning throughout the community.
Responsibilities
Attend and prepare to teach assigned courses.
Develop lesson plans, course outlines, and syllabi that align with approved objectives.
Maintain accurate academic records and complete required forms.
Hold office hours and provide student consultation and advising support.
Participate in program review, assessment, and other institutional committees.
Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise.
Contribute to recruitment and retention efforts as appropriate.
Represent CMC professionally in the community and promote a positive public image.
Engage in professional development required for credentialing.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must meet the following standards:
Credentialed to teach in the specific program or eligible for credentialing.
Minimum of a master’s degree in the field or equivalent graduate credits (18 credits or more).
At least one year of full‑time teaching experience (or comparable adjunct experience), with higher education teaching preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogy and at least two years of teaching experience.
Strong background in computers and technology, and excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to learn, research, analyze data, and work independently toward goals and deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications: Bilingual in English and Spanish, or conversational language ability in either language, is preferred.
Special Skills
Applicants should possess strong computer skills, excellent office skills (filing, typing, phone handling), attention to detail, and the ability to conduct research and analyze data independently.
Working Conditions
The position requires frequent use of a computer, occasional driving, and continuous sitting with intermittent standing or walking. Duties may include lifting up to 50 lbs and require effective written and oral communication.
