Position overview
The General Manager of Food & Beverage at
The Oxford Hotel
leads one of Denver’s most celebrated dining and drinking programs, overseeing an operation that includes both the farm‑to‑table excellence of Urban Farmer and the storied tradition of The Cruise Room. This role sets the strategic and operational direction for all food and beverage outlets, ensuring that each reflects the hotel’s timeless commitment to exceptional quality and its confident, individualistic character.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage human resources within the division, including recruitment, training, coaching, performance and salary reviews, conflict resolution, discipline and termination as appropriate.
Develop, recommend, implement and manage the division’s annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts and objectives to meet or exceed management expectations.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety and sanitary regulations, and all federal, state and local regulations to maintain optimal service quality.
Market the Food and Beverage outlets, develop menus, package deals, promotions, displays, decorations and presentations within corporate guidelines to capture in‑house guests and a larger share of the local market.
Oversee maintenance and sanitation of food and beverage areas and equipment to protect assets, comply with regulations and ensure quality service.
Resolve customer complaints to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
Other Responsibilities
All other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Supervisory Duties
Manage between five and fifty associates.

Education/Formal Training
A four‑year college degree or relevant education/experience.
Experience
Four to five years of employment in a related position within the hospitality industry.
Knowledge/Skills
Advanced knowledge of food and beverage/hospitality principles and practices, including people management and complex problem solving.
Ability to analyze and interpret complex activities.
Excellent communication skills to negotiate, influence, and collaborate with guests, associates, and corporate stakeholders.
Strong administrative skills for forecasting, purchase orders, budget review, and invoice approval.
Proficiency in written communication for guest, corporate, vendor, and associate interactions.
Physical Demands
Limited physical requirements required to assist various outlets during peak business demands.
Can bend or kneel as directed.
Supervisory ability required 60% of the work day.
No continuous standing.
Can climb up to 20 stairs; up to 20% of the work day.
No driving required.
Limited exposure to chemicals or agents while supervising sanitation.
