Responsibilities
Provide private music instruction (primarily piano) to students. Instructors may teach in students' homes, in their own studio/rehearsal space, or via webcam. Most students prefer in-person lessons, so local instructors who can host students or travel to them are needed in the University, VA area.
Set your own schedule and curriculum/lesson plans.
Support the studio by participating in advertising, marketing, and billing processes handled by the company.
Qualifications
Formal music training is not mandatory, but one of the following is required: a degree in music, enrollment in a music program, professional performing experience, or previous teaching experience.
Great with kids, loves teaching, maintains good communication with the office, and is organized and punctual for all lessons.
Compensation & Scheduling
Independent contractor basis between $20-$30 per hour, dependent on travel time, experience/education, and student retention rate. You have the freedom to set your own schedule.
Safety & COVID-19
If applicable, wear a mask, sanitize hands, and practice social distancing. Some lessons may be webcam, but many students prefer in-person lessons at the instructor’s studio or home.
