Job Summary

The Sanitor 3 is a senior sanitation professional responsible for leading complex equipment cleaning and sanitation operations in a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures all areas meet strict food safety standards, supports the training of team members, and drives continuous improvement. The Sanitor 3 will also serve as a backup Sanitation Lead when needed.

Schedule

1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Sunday availability required for sanitation washdowns
Must be flexible with a weekly changing schedule based on production needs.
Position Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize production equipment, tools, and work areas following established procedures and schedules.
Disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Perform general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and waste removal.
Safely use cleaning chemicals and sanitation tools per company and regulatory guidelines.
Lead sanitation activities to ensure all tasks are completed on time and properly documented.
Perform advanced cleaning of complex machinery, including detailed washdowns and reassembly.
Conduct pre-operational inspections to verify sanitation effectiveness.
Train and mentor Sanitor Level 1 and Level 2 team members on proper techniques and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate sanitation records in compliance with food safety standards.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve sanitation issues.
Monitor chemical usage, concentrations, and inventory levels.
Identify and implement improvements to sanitation processes and equipment cleanability.
Promote and enforce safety standards and a culture of accountability.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

2–3 years of sanitation or janitorial experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
Ability to read and follow written procedures.
Strong attention to detail; reliable, responsible, and self‑motivated.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays based on production needs.
Must be available for weekend work, as sanitation operations primarily occur during washdowns.
Willingness to rotate shifts and support team coverage as needed.
Physical Demands & PPE

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the day.
Approximately 95% walking and 5% sitting.
May lift and move items weighing up to 50lbs occasionally.
Walk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floors.
Exposure to wet and humid conditions, cold, and hot temperatures.
Exposure to allergens, including wheat.
Exposure to high noise levels.
Hard‑toe slip‑resistant shoes, hairnet, beard net, and face mask/shield (if applicable), knee pads, apron, safety glasses, earplugs, bump hat, chemical‑resistant boots, and gloves are required in the food manufacturing work areas.
