Latham (L) Interiors offers a paid Interior Design Internship for emerging designers eager to gain experience in a high-end residential studio. This part-time, temporary role provides exposure to the many facets of interior design while working alongside a talented, collaborative team.
Our studio focuses on thoughtful residential projects shaped by the mountain environment. We’re looking for an intern who is curious, organized, and motivated to support the team through research, drawings, and day-to-day project tasks while learning from active project work.
The Interior Design Intern will assist the designers and gain experience across different phases depending on their skill set. They may participate in construction site visits, in-office vendor presentations, weekly design reviews, and client meetings. Interns will help maintain the sample library and assist with furniture and finish research and documentation. Throughout the internship, they will work closely with our Principal and design team, gaining meaningful exposure to studio standards and workflows with the potential to grow into a future full-time role.
Responsibilities
Support the design team across day-to-day project tasks, contributing research, documentation, and studio organization. This role provides hands‑on exposure to the interior design process while assisting designers in a fast‑paced, professional environment.
Assist designers with project tasks across concept development, design development, and documentation.
Help maintain the sample library by organizing materials, updating pricing and records, and managing physical and digital samples.
Conduct research for materials, furniture, finishes, and imagery through vendor resources and online platforms.
Support administrative tasks including organizing client files, preparing documents, and managing sample shipments and correspondence.
Communicate professionally with vendors to gather pricing, product information, availability, and specification details.
Assist with errands such as picking up or delivering samples, mock‑ups, or materials between the studio and local vendors.
Contribute to a positive, organized, and collaborative studio environment while learning from active project work.
Requirements
Background & Education: Coursework or training in Interior Design preferred.
Position: Part-time, temporary internship based in Sun Valley, ID.
Skills: Strong conceptual thinking, clear communication, and solid organizational abilities.
Creative Abilities: Curiosity and willingness to learn through hands‑on project exposure.
Professional Skills: Ability to support designers with accuracy, follow‑through, attention to detail.
Industry Expertise: Interest in furniture, materials, and finishes, with readiness to assist in research and selection.
Personal Qualities: Professional, communicative, and comfortable interacting with vendors and team members.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for samples and materials.
Studio Standards: Upholds studio policies, procedures, and professional conduct, contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.
