Fleet Operations Manager
Location: Midland, TX
Pay: $19.00 – $30.00 per hour (Hourly). Duration: 6 months contract to hire. Availability required on weekends and some holidays.
Work Environment: Fully onsite at a client location supporting fleet operations across multiple geographies. This role is hands‑on and requires frequent interaction with drivers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
About the Role
The Fleet Operations Manager will oversee daily fleet operations for a large, multi‑site vehicle fleet. The role focuses on client support, vendor coordination, cost optimization, and ensuring compliance with fleet safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day‑to‑day fleet operations, safety, and compliance standards.
Manage vehicle life cycle including acquisition, maintenance, inspections, and disposal.
Serve as primary point of contact for drivers, vendors, and internal partners.
Coordinate vendor services and resolve operational issues.
Track fleet data, inventories, and costs using Excel and internal systems.
Recommend cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements.
Support performance tracking through client scorecards.
Ensure regulatory compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2–5 years of customer service, client support, or vendor management experience.
Experience supporting fleet operations, logistics, or vehicle management preferred.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
Strong communication skills and customer‑focused mindset.
Ability to drive and remain on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
Desired Skills
Direct fleet management experience.
Logistics or operations coordination.
Experience with large vehicle fleets.
Background working in B2B service environments.
