
Assistant Project Manager

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking an on-site Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale construction projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented construction professional with experience on complex builds (typically $20M+). The position serves as a key liaison between the field, project team, and client, with a strong focus on coordination, documentation, and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Support preconstruction efforts including scope development and coordination with estimating teams
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to ensure project alignment
Assist in developing site logistics, sequencing, and safety planning
Prepare detailed scopes of work for trade partners
Coordinate subcontractor onboarding and procurement processes
Track and manage delivery of materials, equipment, and vendor timelines
Monitor project performance across schedule, budget, and quality benchmarks
Assist with financial tracking, including cost forecasting and budget updates
Support billing cycles, pay applications, and financial documentation
Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, and change orders
Collaborate closely with field leadership to ensure smooth project execution
Help maintain project schedules and proactively address delays or risks
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in commercial construction project coordination or management
Experience working on large-scale projects (multifamily or similar preferred, but not required)
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficiency with standard business software (Microsoft Office or similar) and project management platforms (e.g., Procore or equivalent)
Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners
Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
