Part‑Time Digital Design Yearbook Teacher (4 hours a week)
American Heritage School is a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Digital Design Yearbook Teacher to join our middle school faculty. This position combines classroom instruction with marketing and communications responsibilities and offers the opportunity to teach practical, creative, and real-world skills in a faith-based educational environment.
Nature of the Role
This position is considered a faith-forming role within American Heritage School. In addition to academic instruction, teachers are expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the Mission and values of AHS and the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Qualifications
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, with preference given to candidates who hold a degree in marketing, digital design, or a related field.
• Commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• Experience working with youth is preferred, particularly in a formal middle school setting.
• Exceptional proficiency with digital tools and publishing platforms.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, professionalism, technical proficiency, willingness to learn and grow.
Teaching Responsibilities
• Teach the Digital Design and Publishing course, meeting four hours per week.
• Oversee the production of the middle school yearbook.
• Produce publicity and promotional content for middle school events throughout the school year.
• Foster an enduring love of youth, teaching, and learning, aligned with LDS values.
Faith and Mission Responsibilities
• Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into classroom instruction where appropriate.
• Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students.
• Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues.
• Participate in school-wide devotionals, prayer, and other faith-centered activities.
• Respond thoughtfully to students’ faith, values, and moral questions in a manner consistent with the school’s mission.
Professional Expectations
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor, serving as an ambassador for AHS Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement.
• Reflect the school's religious mission and educational purpose in personal conduct and online presence.
Communication and Organization
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and post assignments with clear instructions, models, and rubrics.
• Maintain purposeful and effective classroom routines.
• Communicate with parents and colleagues in a timely, collaborative, precise, and positive manner.
• Monitor and report student progress clearly and consistently.
• Experience working with students with specific learning disabilities is helpful but not required.

This position is available starting August 1 for the 2026‑2027 school year.
