The Business Intelligence Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, the following
Advance Merrill’s BI data architecture, including the KPI semantic layer, data models, and supporting infrastructure, ensuring consistent and governed reporting
Manage data transformation from raw data tables to curated KPIs to visualize, analyze, and query the data via dashboarding and AI chatbot capabilities
Maintain and improve the centralized KPI semantic layer by defining and standardizing metrics and business logic for how performance is measured
Manage and evolve the data warehouse and BI data structures to support scalable analytics and emerging AI use cases
Lead development and refinement of BI tools, including dashboards and conversational querying capabilities, prioritizing actionable insights and clarity
Establish standards for BI tool design, documentation and governance
Drive adoption of BI tools and metrics through feedback, iteration, and usage monitoring
Manage and prioritize the BI pipeline, aligning work to business impact and setting clear expectations with stakeholders
Create and deliver BI dashboard training primarily to the regional, executive, and general manager teams to improve data literacy and effective use of dashboards and analytical tools
Align BI tools and platforms with best practices for visualization, system management, and user adoption
Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and performance opportunities, providing recommendations to leadership
Provide a high level of customer service and support to all team members and stakeholders
Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned
Education & Experience
5-7+ years of related experience in FP&A or Analytics or other related experience
Advanced degree, professional certifications, or senior living / multi-family housing experience is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated experience developing and managing BI solutions, including dashboards and data models, with measurable user adoption
Experience working with BI data architecture, including data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake or equivalent), data modeling, and KPI semantic layers or similar metric standardization frameworks
Strong understanding of metric data governance and best practices in defining, data modeling, and reporting consistency
Advanced expertise in data visualization and analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, Sigma), including performance optimization and best practices
Experience training business users, promoting data literacy, and driving adoption of BI tools
Strong analytical, financial analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and effectively prioritize work based on business impact
Demonstrated success leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement and service
Excellent problem-solving, organizational and process management skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing effectively as a reliable team member
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including effective spoken and written English as required by business necessity
Advanced proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Tableau / Power BI / Sigma, and Snowflake or equivalents; experience with Yardi, UKG, SQL, and/or Python is a plus
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 20 lbs., push/pull up to 20 lbs., and carry up to 20 lbs. on a seldom basis
Frequent sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time, looking at computer screens
Frequent bending, squatting, reaching, twisting, and rotating of head, neck, torso, and arms
