We’re looking for a full time

Accounting Specialist

to join our team and play a vital role in supporting our members, staff, and daily accounting operations. This position blends technical accounting work with a strong service mindset—perfect for someone who values accuracy

What You’ll Do
You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records while delivering exceptional service aligned with our

Service Promises , including being knowledgeable, trustworthy, respectful, and solutions‑focused in every interaction.

Key responsibilities include:

Reconcile cash accounts and various general ledger accounts

Maintain effective day‑to‑day accounting operations

Ensure accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are followed

Answer member calls professionally and promptly

Post reimbursement requests and assist with cashier check escheatment processes

Create, maintain, and improve departmental and accounting reports

Review procedures and recommend efficiencies or improvements

Assist with plastic card maintenance and ordering

Cross‑train to support Accounting Specialist III

Coordinate corporate vehicle reservations and oversee routine maintenance

Support special projects and other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications

College degree in accounting or a related field

or

comparable relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Prior accounting and/or related experience

Familiarity with a credit union or financial institution environment (a plus)

Skills & Success Factors
The ideal candidate is:

Professional, organized, and detail‑oriented

A strong communicator with sound judgment and problem‑solving skills

Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Comfortable prioritizing work and handling frequent interruptions

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Experience with a financial institution core system or reporting system is a plus
