Are you passionate about health and safety? Do you have a knack for ensuring compliance with safety regulations? We are seeking a Permanent Health & Safety Clerk for our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing health and safety regulations within the company, including Cal/OSHA and Federal OSHA compliance, OSHA 300 recordkeeping, and handling Workers’ Comp reports. This role contributes to the health and safety of team members and to production operations.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all Cal OSHA and Federal OSHA regulations within the company.
Maintain OSHA 300 recordkeeping, documenting workplace injuries and illnesses.
Handle Workers’ Comp reports, including filing claims and coordinating with insurance providers.
Regularly inspect the manufacturing facility to identify potential health and safety hazards.
Conduct health and safety training sessions for all staff members.
Maintain health and safety records, including incident, training, and inspection reports.
Coordinate with management and staff to implement health and safety improvements.
Assist in investigations of accidents and unsafe conditions, study causes, and recommend remedial action.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably in manufacturing.
Extensive knowledge of Cal OSHA and Federal OSHA compliance requirements.
Experience with OSHA 300 recordkeeping and Workers’ Comp reports.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
Proactive approach to health and safety with ability to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or CPR certification preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $25 - $27 per hour. Excellent Benefits Package, 401(k) match, aggressive bonus potential, and opportunities for company growth.
