Job Purpose
This role provides leadership in patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The nurse delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; demonstrates professionalism and supports the company's nursing philosophy.

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Work Experience
Required: None.

Certifications
Required: Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
Effective time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-directed.
Good interpersonal, leadership, and delegation skills; ability to demonstrate good judgment and supervise or manage others.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

Job Duties
Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for diverse patients, families, and disciplines.
Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources properly; serves as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale, improving the profession of nursing.
Adapts behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy and adapting communication style.
Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Physical demands include occasional to frequent exertion of 10-100 pounds to move objects, exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, and potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste. The role requires work in a patient care area with exposure to communicable diseases.
