The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled
Construction Specialist with a CDL
based in the
Portland, OR
area. This position will report to the Construction Manager and offers an opportunity to join a strong, collaborative team at an early stage of growth, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the continued expansion of GRC.
Responsibilities
Construction Specialist with CDL A is responsible for general laborer duties and support on construction sites
Use various equipment, hand and power tools
Prepare ground trenches for pipes and utility lines
Remove, fill or compact earth
Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade and utility safety standards
Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck
Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis - JSA prior to starting construction
Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
Ability to follow instructions
Driving heavy equipment/hauling materials
Required Qualifications
CDL A License
Commercial driving and/or heavy equipment operation – 1 year experience
On-call and weekend availability
Travel is Required
Preferred Qualifications
Construction: 1 year
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Understanding of basic utility construction processes and terminology a plus

Day Shift: Monday – Friday & Night Shift: Sunday – Thursday
