Behavioral Health Clerk
Join NaphCare in providing quality healthcare to the unique patient population at G.K. Fountain Correctional Facility, Atmore, Alabama.
Responsibilities
Log requests for offsite and diagnostic studies.
Maintain mental health clinic logs and ensure appointments scheduled per DOC protocols.
Assist nurses and staff in issuing and tracking minor medical equipment.
Collect data from ER logs, segregation logs, etc. for monthly QI reporting.
Coordinate scheduling of on‑site specialty appointments.
Answer telephone calls, take messages and make calls as needed.
Type correspondence, reports or memorandums.
Maintain roster or appointment book based on scheduled appointments.
Order, receive and maintain office supplies.
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least one year experience in a behavioral health care environment.
Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Effective time management skills.
Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required.
Physical Capabilities
Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
