NaphCare is hiring a Behavioral Activity Tech to join our team of medical professionals in the Julia Tutwiler Correctional Facility in Wetumpka, Alabama. This posting is open exclusively to current AL DOC incumbent employees.
Responsibilities
Log requests for offsite and diagnostic studies.
Maintain mental health clinic logs and ensure that appointments are scheduled according to DOC protocols.
Assist nurses and other staff in issuing and tracking minor medical equipment (e.g., heating pads).
Collect data from ER logs, segregation logs, etc. for monthly QI reporting.
Coordinate the scheduling of on-site specialty appointments (e.g., X-ray, physical therapy, medical-surgical subspecialties).
Answer telephone calls, take messages and make telephone calls as needed.
Type correspondence, reports or memorandums, as needed.
Maintain roster or appointment book based on scheduled appointments, both offsite and onsite, as needed.
Order, receive and maintain office supplies.
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
At least one (1) year experience in a behavioral health care environment.
Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Effective time management skills.
Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirement.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
Physical Capabilities: Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
