Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT/MLS) for a 13-week contract assignment in Detroit, MI. This role will focus on the Chemistry department, performing complex laboratory testing and ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic results in a high-volume clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex chemistry testing and analysis
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results through quality control procedures
Review and verify lab data prior to release
Maintain compliance with laboratory policies, safety, and regulatory standards
Document patient results and maintain accurate records
Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers
Assist with workflow efficiency and process improvements
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science
Certification from a recognized agency (ASCP or NCA)
Minimum 2–3 years of recent clinical laboratory experience
Strong experience in Chemistry laboratory operations
Experience with Beckman Coulter equipment (AU system preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Sunquest LIS
Experience in automated laboratory environments
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (preferred)
