Job Description Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is currently recruiting for an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III. Under the general supervision of the Director of Business Operations, the position will perform professional procurement, accounting, and related human resource duties for the cost centers assigned within the Department.

Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities include procuring goods and services within state, institutional, and federal grant guidelines; processing credit card transactions; coordinating human resource efforts; applying fund and cost accounting methods; and assisting in preparing departmental budgets and financial statements.
Job Duties (by Percentage of Time)

– Daily fund management of discretionary cost centers, including budget modeling, accruals, reclassifications, and financial analysis to support accurate financial statements.
20%
– Maintain financial accuracy of payroll and non‑payroll transactions within the institution’s ERP system; verify and approve transactions, audit reimbursements, and resolve variances.
15%
– Prepare and maintain personnel funding documents (Payroll Costing Allocations, Payroll Accounting Adjustments, Department Cost Allocation Logs) and handle changes to effort, status, and compensation.

– Maintain and organize procurement, payroll, and accounting records for assigned cost centers, ensuring audit trails and confidentiality.

– Process items in the ERP Inbox and support the preparation of the Department Annual Operating Budget with accurate data verification.

– Coordinate funding matters with departmental representatives and division administrators, and serve as liaison regarding finance, procurement, and facilities.

– Review and audit procurement source documents for discretionary accounts, and provide guidance and training to staff on expense report and procurement procedures.

– Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree and four years of professional experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or commercial lending.
A degree with multiple accounting courses may substitute for two years of required experience.
Computer literacy and ability to use Word, Excel, and the institution’s ERP (Workday/OurDay).
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform job functions while upright, seated, walking, or mobile; work indoors; lift and carry up to 15 lbs.; use both hands and fingers; perform repetitive motions.
Vision and hearing requirements as specified for daily functions.
