Setting: Hospital Labor and Delivery unit (travel assignment)
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to laboring patients, including monitoring fetal status and supporting labor progress.
Deliver postpartum and newborn care, including newborn assessments and initial stabilization.
Conduct triage assessments and manage non‑stress tests (NSTs) as part of continuous fetal monitoring.
Serve as second nurse and contribute to overflow coverage as needed.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatology, nursing colleagues, and other disciplines to ensure safe, evidence‑based care.
Document care in the medical record, respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, and participate in discharge planning and patient education.
Requirements
Active Registered Nurse license in the United States (state eligibility or current licensure appropriate for a Montana assignment may be required).
Prior labor and delivery or OB/GYN nursing experience preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required per department.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; RN degree (ADN or BSN) eligible for practice.
Ability to work nights in a high‑volume labor and delivery setting.
