Job Requirements

Minimum 1 year of ICU / critical care nursing experience required (travel nurse experience a plus)

Extensive cardiac telemetry and critical care experience required

Current Illinois RN license required

Certifications: BLS (CPR) and ACLS required; NIHSS certification required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)

Willingness to float to Medical-Surgical units as needed (flexible clinical support)

Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered critical care using the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members

Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, hospital policies, and critical care protocols

Document patient care accurately and timely according to standards and electronic health record policies

Develop, initiate, and implement individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy

Deliver patient and family education, including discharge instructions and disease-specific teaching (cardiac, stroke, neuro)

Participate in unit performance improvement and quality initiatives to support patient safety and outcomes

Provide clinical expertise and guidance across units to support longitudinal patient care (ICU to Step-Down/Med-Surg transitions)

Apply critical thinking to monitor patient safety, elevate concerns, and coordinate with providers for timely interventions
