
Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician - School-Based

Position Overview
Open until filled. The position is grant‑funded and may depend on future grant funds. The role is a 12‑month behavioral health clinician position embedded in one of PHC’s school‑based service sites, providing individual, group, and family counseling to elementary school‑aged minors. The clinician will begin in mid‑July 2026 and will work with PHC’s integrated care model, collaborating with primary care providers, school personnel, community partners, and the mobile support team as needed.
Responsibilities
Screen, assess, and develop treatment plans for behavioral health patients.
Provide individual, couples, family, and group counseling based on the treatment plan.
Deliver brief behavioral interventions within the medical clinic or school setting as part of the integrated model.
Advocate for integrated care at PHC and stay current with best practices and related topics.
Complete timely peer review, audit activities, and contribute to process improvement and program development.
Provide community education and training to support and clinical personnel as required.
Maintain appropriate, timely clinical records and documentation.
Participate in scheduled administrative staff meetings, clinical staff meetings, and community or educational forums as directed.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social work or counseling (required).
Active Montana State LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT license (required).
Minimum two years of clinical or mental health experience.
Strong knowledge of interviewing, screening, assessment, counseling, and ethical and legal requirements of the profession.
Experience with evidence‑based practices for children and families.
Proficiency with electronic medical records, word processing, and database software.
Ability to compile reports, track data, coordinate care, and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
Commitment to become licensed within 24 months if hired as a provisionally‑licensed clinician.
Special Requirements and Work Conditions
Must pass a criminal background investigation and provide immunization records.
May require a valid driver’s license for the mobile support team assignment.
Work may involve evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime; may be required to work in all weather conditions and handle physically demanding tasks.
Not eligible for remote work.
