Responsibilities
Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, perform diagnostic Interventional Radiology (IR) exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment. The Apprentice scrubs in with the interventional physician and practices sterile technique, prepares the sterile tray with the appropriate supplies, assists the physician with procedures, and demonstrates good clinical skills to obtain the best possible images for interpretation while applying ALARA principles of radiation protection. The Apprentice may be required to perform IV starts and prep patients and may be asked to assist with supplies needed by the physician to perform interventions.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Associate’s degree - Graduated from accredited Radiography program required
American Heart Association or Red Cross - Basic Life Support required.
CRT - Radiologic Technologist Registration - ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) Upon Hire - Required.
